What Do The Top Bloggers Drive?

Readers of my blog will know that I??m a huge car person, you can see my own progression of vehicles here. I??ll add my current stable of vehicles to the bottom of this post for new readers that are interested. I believe that cars can be an inspiring thing for other entrepreneurs (at least they inspire me), so I wanted to see what some of the top bloggers on the net have in their garage. I got in touch with a bunch of bloggers, and while not everybody responded, many did (for those that didn??t, contact me and maybe I??ll be able to do a part 2!). What I found is that many of the bloggers, even the ones that have a high net worth, don??t really drive anything insanely impressive…a few don??t even have a car. While seeing a top blogger driving around in a Ferrari is inspiring, it??s also inspiring to see some of these guys not have anything special.\r\n\r\nOn with the list:\r\n

I do 1 payment 2 year leases and mine will be up this may.\r\n\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: I would still drive a h2. I live in Nebraska (land of monster snow drifts) and it comes in handy to have a full time 4wd vehicle that I can also help other people with.\r\n

\r\nSEOmoz\r\n\r\nCurrent Car: I’ve actually never owned a car! I walk to work and grab a lift with my fiance on the weekends :)\r\n\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: Probably the new Camry hybrid with the Prius style engine. Either that or the Volvo S80 – Vanessa Fox has one and I really liked it.\r\n

Volvo S80

\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: No car at all! I think the only way I manage to keep in shape is forcing myself to walk the 1.3 miles to work and back each day. If I got a car, I’d probably gain a couple pounds a week.\r\n\r\n

Ford Mondeo

\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: That is a strong possibility, if the family car can be fixed I want to get myself an Arial Atom or something similarly scary, other wise I’ll have to be sensible and get a new family motor, probably a Mercedes but undecided yet.\r\n

Ariel Atom

\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: A Lambo, though when money is no object I’ll have something of a fleet :)\r\n

\r\n

Leon Ho

\r\nLifeHack\r\n\r\nCurrent Car: I don’t drive any cars and vehicles after I moved to Hong Kong as the public transportation is quite convenient here. I drove a Honda Integra (Acura RSX) in Australia.\r\n\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: I would buy a Mazda RX8 or a Nissan 350Z\r\n\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano\r\n

\r\n

Graham Hill

\r\nTree Hugger\r\n\r\nCurrent Car: None. The odd taxi when I’m lazy or it’s necessary.\r\n\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: I’d go with a zipcar or an electric car, ideally one that I could charge with my own solar panels. I’d also love it if zipcar could offer me a really wide range of transportation options e.g. bike, 3 wheel bike, bike with trailer, electric scooter, tiny car, medium car, large car, van, moving truck etc… This would allow me to use the smallest vehicle for the job.\r\n

\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: I’d like to think that even if money wasn’t an object that I’d still act in the same manner. A Tesla electric does spring to mind but frankly I think I’d feel wasteful.\r\n\r\n

\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: Honda Civic Hybrid\r\n\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: That electric car that’s faster than a jet plane or whatever.\r\n\r\n

\r\n

Andrew Sullivan

\r\nThe Daily Dish\r\n\r\nCurrent Car: I don’t drive and cannot drive. I have no license and never learned. It’s saved me a fortune and the planet some grief.\r\n\r\n

\r\n

Tyler Cruz

\r\nTyler Cruz dot com\r\n\r\nCurrent Car: 2004 Toyota Corolla. Interesting note, it only has 37,000 KM logged. Easy to do when you work from home…\r\n

Toyota Corolla

\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: A 2007 Toyota Corolla, or maybe a Camry. I’m not a car-guy at all, and don’t drive all that much, so any comfortable, dependable ride is all I need. I am missing a few basic features in my car now though, that I wouldn’t mind having, such as power windows, GPS, etc. I also wouldn’t mind a v6 engine again (I used to own a Chevy Corsica). I’m not a speedster, and it’s rather wasteful on gas, but a v6 is just nice to have…\r\n\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: Same as above.\r\n\r\n

\r\n

Anthony Baggett

\r\nAntBag.com\r\n\r\nCurrent Car: Dodge Dakota and a Nissan Maxima\r\n

Nissan Maxima Dodge Dakota

\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: Probably either a Nissan Maxima, Toyota Camry, or Honda Accord.\r\n\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: Whichever I could find that was the most comfortable. I prefer comfort to style.\r\n\r\n

\r\n

Paul Stamatiou

\r\nPaul Stamatiou dot com\r\n\r\nCurrent Car: I’m glad you’ve picked me to ask these questions to. I am a huge car nut. If I didn’t have a tech blog I would most definitely have a car blog. I drive a slightly modified 2002 Mustang GT with midpipe, catback exhaust upgrades, larger 13″ brakes from the Cobra, springs, struts, shocks, caster/camber plates, welded zinc sub-frame connector to firm up the chassis, plenum & throttle body, 18×9 wheels and tires, ECU reprogram, sparco racing seat and HID headlights, although they’re out ever since I did car registration.. you have to legally have a low and high beam in texas and most states.\r\n

Ford Mustang

\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: As for what new car I would buy given a decent salary in the next few years, likely the new E92 BMW M3, Nissan GT-R or Corvette ZR1 (most likely the Z06 though). While the GT-R has a faster 0-60 of 3.5, the Z06 isn’t far at 3.7 and the engine isn’t nearly maxed out like the GT-R’s 6. Add $10k to the Z06 for a SC & exhaust system for 600HP+ and a 60 time of likely 3.4ish, which is the same as the tiptronic Porsche 997 gen 911 Turbo .. also another good pick.\r\n

Chevy Corvette Z06

\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: If money was no object, I would take an Ascari A10 and take it to Hamann to pimp out with dished, boost-friendly pistons and twin turbo it for something around 800HP. I’d also get them to drop in a beefier transmission and boost controller.. I can imagine running full boost all day would kill the gas tank. That work should put the A10 to be faster than the Veyron, which can’t handle well anyways.\r\n

Ascari A10

\r\n

Neil Patel

\r\nQuick Sprout\r\n\r\nCurrent Car: I drive an old Toyota 4Runner, which is currently my parents.\r\n

Toyota 4Runner

\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: Maserati Quattroporte (Problem is convincing my parents to let me buy it 😉 )\r\n

Maserati Quattraporte

\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: If I had unlimited money, I would still buy that car because it is luxurious and simple at the same time.\r\n\r\n

\r\n

Takashi Yamada

\r\nYanko Design\r\n\r\nCurrent Car: I currently drive a 2008 Toyota Camry, this is because I find Totota??s are really reliable.\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: I just bought the 2008 Camry.\r\n

2008 Toyota Camry

\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: It would be the Lamborghini Reventon.\r\n\r\n

\r\n

David Pitlyuk (Me)

\r\nDavid Pitlyuk dot com\r\n\r\nCurrent Car: I currently have a 94 Dodge Viper, a 98 Honda Accord Coupe (This is my interim car as I just sold my Infiniti G35 Coupe and I??m figuring out what to get next), and an 02 Honda CBR600 F4i motorcycle.\r\n

My Cars

\r\nIf you had to buy a new car today, what would it be: Realistically I??ve been looking at a few options such as a C6 Corvette, 5-series BMW, BMW M3, and Infiniti G37.\r\n\r\nWhat would you drive if money was no object: If money was no object I would have a ton of cars, but if I could only choose one it would probably be a Koenigsegg CCX. The CCX would run about $600,000. I would be quite content with something like a Lamborghini Murcielago, but I like the rarity of the Koenigsegg. Not to say that Murcielago??s aren??t rare, but I work right near a Ferrari/Lamborghini/Maserati dealership…and I happen to see them often enough.\r\n
